Richard Spillane
Richard Spillane is a trustee at the Lynch Foundation, and serves as the Foundation’s Treasurer, Chair of the Finance and Investment Committees. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) with over 45 years of experience in the investment management business, Rick’s career began at Eaton Vance Management, where he was an analyst and portfolio manager. Rick then moved to Fidelity Investments where he started as portfolio manager for the Fidelity Select Technology Portfolio.
He then began a career in management and held the roles of Director of U.S. Equity Research, Chief Investment Officer for Europe for Fidelity International Ltd., Head of U.S. Equities, and Head of Global Investment Strategy. Rick’s last post at Fidelity was President of Strategic Advisers, a Registered Investment Advisor. He retired from Fidelity in 2007.
From 2007-2018, Rick was an Adjunct Lecturer at Babson College in the Finance Division, teaching courses in the investments area. He was also the faculty advisor to the student-advised Babson College Fund. He was a board member of Eaton Vance Corp, and Xaverian Brothers High School. He is also a member of the advisory boards for In Music Industries LLC and The Lynch Leadership Academy at Boston College.
Rick was a Francis Ouimet Scholar, who attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute receiving a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and an M.B.A. from Harvard University. He resides in Wellesley with his wife, where they spend lots of time with their children and grandchildren.
