Peter Lynch is President of the Lynch Foundation and Vice Chairman of Fidelity Management & Research Company. He is considered one of the most successful money managers in Wall Street history, managing the Magellan Fund at Fidelity — the best performing fund in the world under his leadership from May 1977 to May 1990. The fund beat the market by over 14% a year for thirteen years and in the last seven years, when Magellan was the largest fund in the world, it outperformed 99% of all stock funds. One out of every one hundred Americans was in the fund.

From to 1990 to 2023, Peter served as Chairman and principal fundraiser of the Building Minds Scholarship Fund. As Chairman, he raised over $250 million in partial scholarships for children of all faiths and ethnicities living in Greater Boston and attending inner-city Catholic schools.

Peter has been the recipient of several national and local civic awards. He is a fellow with the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a Distinguished Bostonian in the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce’s Academy. Peter was honored with the ADL Abraham Joshua Heschel Interfaith Relations Award and was appointed as a Knight of Malta, the Order of St. Gregory the Great Award, the highest award bestowed to a layperson.

Peter served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, and was a Francis Ouimet Scholar, enabling him to receive his Bachelor of Science from Boston College, and a Masters of Business Administration from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He has also received honorary degrees from fifteen various colleges and universities and was awarded the Joseph Wharton Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2011. Peter is the co-author of three bestselling books, One Up on Wall StreetBeating the Street, and  Learn to Earn. To date, the books have sold approximately 3.9 million copies across 17 countries, and all profits and royalties are donated to charity. He resides in Boston and enjoys spending lots of time with his children and grandchildren.
