Mary Witkowski is a trustee at the Lynch Foundation and active member of the Governance Committee. A fellow at the Harvard Business School’s Institute for Strategy & Competitiveness, she is focused on the health care system. Her research centers on patient-centered, value-based health care, including the design and implementation of new, integrated care delivery models and payment reform.
She has taught value-based health care in the MBA and Executive Education curriculum at Harvard Business School and in the MD curriculum at Harvard Medical School. Previously, Mary directed research and advised senior leadership at hospitals throughout the United States and globally to evaluate the impact of Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing. Her research has been published in the Journal of Healthcare Management, Accounting Horizons, New England Journal of Medicine, and Harvard Business Review Online Forum.
Prior to that, Mary was a consultant at Bain & Company, working in both their Boston and New York offices. Mary served as a Trustee of the Park School in Brookline and is a member of their Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion and Educational Policy Committees. She is also a member of the Harvard Medical School Advisory Council on Education.
Mary received her Bachelor’s degree from Harvard College, a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School, and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Harvard Medical School. As a student at Harvard, Mary was actively involved as a member of the Varsity Alpine Ski Team and The Varsity Tennis Team. Mary resides in Milton with her four children and continues to stay very active with competitive ice-skating, where she competes on an international level.
