Posse Boston Thanks The Lynch Foundation

By Rassan Salandy, The Posse Newsletter (Fall 2007)

With the generous support of its donors, Posse Boston continues to grow and thrive while its Scholars excel, persist, and graduate from Posse's elite partner colleges at a phenomenal rate of over 90 percent.

One such donor is the Lynch Foundation. Since 2000, Lynch has been an important partner with Posse in addressing issues of educational access and diversity.

The Lynch Foundation's extraordinary contributions to Posse, at the local and national levels, have been vital to the success of the Posse program and the talented young people we serve.

The Lynch Foundation was established in 1987 and provides assistance to programs primarily in Massachusetts with an emphasis on areas such as education, historic preservation, and healthcare.

For seven years, Lynch has provided Posse with critical support. In that time, more than 250 of the Boston area's best and brightest high school students have gained admittance to Posse's partner colleges. These diverse young men and women have been awarded millions of dollars in merit-based scholarships and many are now transitioning from college and beginning their careers.

"We consider Posse to be an A+ organization," says Carolyn A. Lynch, president and chairman of the Lynch Foundation. "The Posse Foundation has made significant progress in promoting equity and excellence in higher education and the workforce."

Posse would like to thank the Lynch Foundation for its dedication to cultivating the next generation of leaders.

"The magnitude of the Lynch Foundation's contributions will be felt in the Posse community, in the city of Boston, and around the nation for years to come," says Posse Boston Director Susan Dalelio.
